Access to good nutrition helps combat illness and disease which is also vital to improving children’s development and learning. When small farmers are able to fully utilize their land, their families eat better, are healthier and their cash flow is increased.
CFK work with the poor teaching them to establish household F.A.I.T.H (Food Always In The House) organic vegetable gardens. In the aftermath of the 2010 Mentawai Island tsunami, CFK encouraged the tsunami survivors to grow their own vegetables to improve family nutrition and food security.
In Aceh, after the 2004 tsunami, CFK worked to provide farmers in with opportunities to boost their productivity and increase their incomes. Offering solutions that help improve rubber plantation production at every step: seedling nursery, soil conditions, planting, tending u0026amp; harvesting as well as marketing their produce.
Savings u0026amp; Loan Share Groups
Access Creating income-generating opportunities that allows for on-going ownership and operation by the local people is a crucial factor in reducing poverty, improving living conditions and providing access to basic services. CFK works towards improving local economies at the grass root level by providing small business Start-up u0026amp; Management Training as well as technical skills trainings aimed at enabling the people to rehabilitate existing industries and develop new income generating activities.
A core component in CFK’s holistic approach to community transformation is to mobilize the community to establish self-help Share Groups that are centered on working in unity and growing together, they meet regularly to share their joys and their burdens. These Share Groups also provide micro savings u0026amp; credit access to their members, enabling them to start small income generation activities.
